2010 - 2011 Venture Reading Series

La Vida es Sueno (Life is a Dream)

by Calderon de la Barca
Directed by Felipe Vergaradit
September 2010

Our first entry into the Philly Fringe Festival featured live music by Piffarro, the Renaissance Band. This collection of skilled musicians specializes in music from the Spanish Golden Age, and we were fortunate they chose to contribute to the evening!  The capacity crowd that filled this one-night-only event was treated to a special menu provided by Restaurant Associates, a national caterer that handles such venues as the Kimmel Center and Lincoln Center. Director Felipe Vergara guided an excellent cast through a site-specific presentation of Calderon's epic meditation on fate, justice, and the nature of existence.

Featuring

Krista Apple, Chris Coucill, Dave Johnson, Sean Lally, Tim Moyer, Genvieve Perrier, Matt Pfeiffer and Luigi Sotille.
