Meet Melody Wong!
Melody Wong is a freelance stage manager. Credits include PIFA 2016, EgoPo Classic Theater's The Women, and assistant to the director for the filming of La Triviata and Turandot with Opera Philadelphia. She got her start as a stage management fellow at the Wilma Theater and is a graduate of Temple University. She currently works at Asian Arts Initiative as their events and tech coordinator. She has worked extensively in the Chinatown and Asian-American community including working on the annual Asian-American Heritage Festival. Outside of theater, she plays volleyball and lion dances with the Philadelphia Suns. Portraying the loving & ascetic sage “Kanva”, Shakuntala’s foster father plus other noble characters in PAC’s virtual reading series, in collaboration with PAPA, THE RECOGNITION OF SHAKUNTALA by Kālidāsa, directed by Pratima Agrawal. “Christina V. Anthony is a Los Angeles-based writer, comedian, and actor. Her writing is published in the Broad Street Review, including think pieces exploring her Indian-American identity as well as reviews covering theatre, art, and pop culture. She taught and directed improv at the Philly Improv Theater where she also performed weekly with Saturday Night House Team Overlook, Harold Team Fan Club, and all-POC comedy troupe NYTEShift from 2017-2020. She has performed at festivals nationwide including: Del Close Marathon (New York City),Philadelphia Fringe Festival (Philadelphia), and North Carolina Comedy Festival (Greensboro, NC).
